“In the U.S. 4.5% of the population identifies as LGBTQ+ an estimated 11 million people and 88% of them are employed. 25% of LGBTQ people report experiencing discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity in the past year. – half of whom said it negatively impacted their work environment.

There are many barriers for LGBTQ+ employees. Come learn about the LGBTQ+ community, the needs of trans and nonbinary people, and what you can do to support them.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Identify terminology and example of identities within the LGBTQ+ community.
  2. Illustrate the barriers and the needs of LGBTQ+ people.
  3. Discuss inclusive practices for LGBTQ+ people.
