White Privilege Symposium 2020

November 6, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

This two-day symposium centers antiracism, equity, liberation, and justice through education in engaging workshops & extraordinary keynotes.

Keynotes: Bettina Love, Jennifer Harvey, Jane Fernandes, and Benjie Howard & Wade Colwell-Sandoval.

The unprecedented times we’re experiencing now in education are illuminating inequities that must be addressed in innovative and systemic ways. The third White Privilege Symposium-Iowa will be held virtually to explore these issues, strategize with community, and build sustainable responses in our schools. This state-wide conference will focus on Equity in Education and partner with Iowan school districts and college’s schools of education to center the experiences students of color in our schools as we take on teaching in a pandemic.

Something that sets this symposium apart from other conference experiences is an opportunity for participants to join sustainability coalitions made up from teachers across the state to work and reflect together to improve classroom practices so that they support diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Ticket Sales: Tickets are sold on a sliding-scale, but cost should never be prohibitive to attendance. Please contact wpsvirtual2020@gmail.com with questions.
